Friday, Oct. 18th. Nairobi Kenya.-KCB fc new head coach Patrick Odhiambo has exuded confidence in his charges, four games in to the 2024-2025 Kenya premier league season. Odhiambo will be taking on his immediate former employer Kakamega Homeboys in Murang’a this weekend.
“We have a very good squad, with a blend of young and experienced players. It’s going to be an exciting match. I know the boys want to prove something, and as a new manager I too want to prove a point. A lot has changed since I left Homeboys, they have new players as well, so tomorrow, is guaranteAed to be exciting.’’
Philip Nyakwaka is an injury concern for the bankers after picking a knock during one of their friendly games. Long term injuries Daddy and Victor have resumed light training with the squad as well.
KCB is currently on top of the KPL table standing on 10 points having registered three wins and a draw after four rounds. Kakamega Homeboys is in the 12th position after four rounds, two draws, two loses and just two points.
The league is set to be more competitive especially with the return of Gor Mahia and Kenya police from continental assignment.
Both teams have three matches at hand having played one match this season. The 12th times champions were bundled out of the CAf Champions league by Al Ahly after a 6-0 aggregate loss. On the other side, Kenya’s domestic cup holders Kenya police fell 3-1 on aggregate to Zamalek of Egypt.
