Uganda is sitting pretty at the top of group K of the ongoing 2025 AFCON qualifiers following a 2-0 victory over Congo.
The cranes have four points after registering a 2-2 draw in their opening match against South Africa.
Czech Republic-based player Abdu Aziz Kayondo opened the scoring for the hosts after 21 minutes, curling a perfect shot from outside the box to floor Pavelh Ndzila between the Congo goal mouth.
Uganda’s defense was tested severally with Silvere Ganvoula Mboussy and Mons Rogeani Andre Bassouamina threatening. Jude Ssemugabi sealed the win for Uganda after collecting Allan Okellos cross in the 85th minute of play.
