Zambia women’s national football team has started their 2024 Paris Olympics on the wrong footing after a whopping 3-0 defeat by the United States, on day one of women’s football action in Paris.

The US started pressing from the word go, with Trinity Rodman securing the lead after 17 minutes of play.

Mallory Swanson shook the net twice in two minutes to put the United States 3-0 up.

Things went from bad to worse for the African nation, after Pauline Zulu was shown a red card. Zulu Wept as she left the pitch leaving her side to struggle with the numerical disadvantage.

The US failed to take advantage of Zambia’s misery and could not score more goals in the second half.

It was a great win for the United States manager Emma Hayes, who spent twelve years coaching the Chelsea ladies’ team.

The United States will take on Germany on Sunday in Marseille with the winner securing a quarter-final slot.
