KCB FC is gearing up for an intense showdown as they kick off the 2023/24 FKF Premier League Season against Ingwe this coming Friday at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
The much-anticipated match not only marks the start of a new football season but also sets the start of Bernard Mwalala’s legacy as he debuts as the Banker’s Head Coach.
Commenting on his debut match with the team during their training session at KCB Ruaraka Sports Club, Coach Mwalala stated, “I am looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to guide KCB FC this season. We have dedicated ourselves during the preseason to fine-tuning our strategies and strengthening our lineup. The match against AFC Leopards will be an early test, and I am confident in the team’s readiness.”
KCB FC has undergone meticulous preparation during the off-season, focusing on team cohesion, fitness, and individual skill sets. Last month, the bankers camped in Kericho County for high-level fitness training, where they also faced Zoo United, Muhoroni FC, formerly Wazito and Shabana FC in pre-season friendlies.
As the new season kicks off, the Bankers will be banking on the new additions as well as the revamped technical bench to turn last season’s disappointment where they finished 5th and fight for top honours in all the competitions.

Newly appointed Team Captain Gabriel Adika said, “We’ve been eagerly awaiting the start of the season. The fixture against AFC Leopards is one that always brings out the best in both teams. We respect our opponents but are ready to give our all on the field and set the tone for a remarkable season ahead. Our fans deserve nothing less than a spirited performance, and that’s precisely what we intend to deliver.”
