On the 5th Day of the Commonwealth Youth Games African U18 silver medalist Caroline Onyango in a highly studded field was able to do a personal best of 45:45m from a previous 42m achieved from the Africa U18 championships in Zambia.
In the 4×400 mixed relay,Trio of the two record breakers Josephat Sang and Nancy Cherop partnered with Janet Chepkoech and Kelvin Kimutai to secure a slot in the finals set to be the last event of the Club Youth Games.
In the 800m heats Kenya had two females Janet Chepkoech and Daisy Chepngetich making it to the finals while in the men’s we had captain Amos Kipkemoi missing out due to a struggle with a hamstring. In the second heat however,Kelvin Kinutai dominated finishing first and booking a ticket in the finals to take place at 11pm Kenyan time.
In the quarter finals of the ladies beach volleyball Abigail and Sharon lost their first game 0-2 against Canada and are now set to face Newzealand in the fight for the Bronze medal position on Thursday morning
Men and women’s 3000m finals also scheduled Kenya will be looking to bag more medals
